OUR STORY

Kahta Reform Society started to sprout with the youth meetings held in the summer of 2022 by its founder Serdar Aşuk in order to create an alternative platform in the Kahta district of Adıyaman. To organize introductory meetings in the future, to develop its vision and mission in these meetings; begins to create representatives from almost every social, economic and cultural segment of the society. As of November 2022, it works to develop project ideas. When it comes to January 2023, it completes its preliminary studies and makes an official notification and decides to realize its goals.

While designing its projects, KADİM  always focuses on being modern, visionary, developing and sustainable. It promotes itself by aiming to reach every individual in the district in order to comply with the vision of the establishment. In this promotional process, it manages to reach a lot of individuals and draws a lot of attention. The interest in the association continues to increase since it is not political, ideological, religious or other opinion-oriented, but rather pluralistic and supra-ideological.

The association is faced with the Kahramanmaraş earthquake on February 6, 2023, on the dates it plans to design its projects and call for members with a promotional launch, and cannot even start the member recruitment process. Since it creates communication networks before the earthquake, it has a staff and immediately decides to work actively in the first hours of the earthquake. Distribution of food, beverage, textile products in the earthquake by taking action with its existing network; takes an active role in the fields of psychotherapy for children and adults. It reaches at least 150,000 people with distributions in Adıyaman, which is the second most affected province by the earthquake in its distributions, and manages to establish the first child-friendly area in the entire earthquake region covering 11 provinces and manage psychotherapy activities for children staying in the tent city, and emergency psychological aid and physiotherapy activities for adults. In this process, not with any source; It works by coordinating the independent aid trucks coming from outside, the own resources of its members and about 1000 volunteers who want to be in the field.

It works to improve its internal structure by meeting with the institutional NGOs that came to the region during the earthquake. After the first months of the earthquake, he decides to develop new projects in accordance with his vision and mission and continue his work.
